About the JSON formatter
Make JSON easier to read or compact it for transport while checking that the payload is valid JSON.
What it does
- Formats JSON with consistent indentation.
- Minifies valid JSON without changing its values.
- Reports validation errors with a line and column when available.
- Lets you copy or download the generated result.
How to use it
- Paste JSON into the input editor.
- Choose Format or Minify.
- Review the validation status and generated output before copying or downloading it.
Notes
Formatting does not sort object keys and validation does not apply a JSON Schema. The tool checks JSON syntax only.
Privacy
Formatting and validation run locally in your browser. The JSON payload is not uploaded for processing.
