About the Excel to SQL Server generator

Build reviewable SQL Server scripts from XLSX or CSV data without uploading the file.

Workflow

  • Load an XLSX or CSV file and select a worksheet.
  • Preview rows, map source columns to SQL identifiers and review inferred value types.
  • Choose INSERT, UPDATE or DELETE, configure write and WHERE columns, then generate the script.
  • Copy or download the SQL only after reviewing the summary and output.

Values and batches

The generator handles strings, numbers, decimals, dates, date-times, times, bits and NULL according to inferred or manually selected types. Batch size controls generated statement groups and can use comments or GO separators. The visual preview is limited to the first 200 rows, but generation uses all rows in the selected sheet.

Safety and limitations

  • UPDATE and DELETE are blocked until at least one WHERE column is selected.
  • A literal NULL can be treated as SQL NULL when that option is enabled; SQL predicates then use IS NULL.
  • Mixed incompatible values produce a warning and should be reviewed or assigned a manual type.
  • Elapsed Excel durations such as [h]:mm:ss are not treated as time-of-day values.
  • Inferred types describe the file contents, not the target table schema.

Privacy

Spreadsheet reading, preview and SQL generation happen locally in your browser. File contents are not uploaded for processing.
